Onshore Commercial Diver First Aid
This onshore commercial diver specific training is delivered by a qualified and experienced Diver Medical Technician instructor, concentrating on more advanced trauma management (including use of tourniquets), gathering and understanding vital signs, record keeping, management of diving maladies such as decompression illness, gas toxicity and marine envenomation, communicating with diving medical specialists and oxygen provision, recompression chamber procedures familiarisation. Multiple, realistic casualty scenarios will be undertaken during the course and they will be part of the assessment process.
Successful participants will receive nationally recognised certification in CPR, Remote Area First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation as well as an AusAction Medic Training certificate of attainment and a personal, vacuum sealed Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) for trauma management.
